It’s the words nobody wants to hear. Unfortunately for Lea Michele, she found out her love Cory Monteith had passed away just hours before the news broke to the world.
A source tells Us Weekly that Michele got the tragic news on Saturday night at 10 p.m., hours after he died. The person who called her from Vancouver was desperately trying to reach her all day, so she wouldn’t find out by reading the news. Just moments after Lea found out, the rest of the world did too.
As is expected, Lea didn’t take the news well.
“Lea completely lost her mind. She went crazy, screaming and crying until 3 a.m.” says the source.
After she found out, she just hid out from everyone.
“Lea has been inconsolable and feels like she’s been hit by a truck. She didn’t know he’s started using again,” adds the insider.
It had been reported that Lea truly didn’t know he relapsed. It's unclear if anyone knew if the drugs that killed Cory were his first time using since falling off the wagon after leaving rehab in April.
It was also reported that Lea and the Monteith family had a small private viewing, but apparently there’s a full memorial being arranged as well and Lea is completely taking charge.
"She’s not doing great. She’s totally devastated.”
According to reports, Cory’s LA friends are reportedly gathering tonight for a memorial at the house he shared with a roommate in LA.
